Feeling over-saturated lately with all this rain? 🌧☔️🚣
While many massage therapists will tell you to “drink more water after massage”, we believe that you should simply drink more water all day long.
Did you know that the ideal minimum water intake for women is 2.5L, and 3L for men?
Do you think you’re drinking that much??
A few easy ways to drink more:...
- first thing in the morning: you’ve technically been fasting while sleeping, and upon waking you are already depleted of hydration. Having 1-2 glasses of water before coffee or breakfast is a great way to start replenishing that water loss, and makes you feel amazing, awake, and alert. 💡🧠
- sipping throughout the day: keep a measured, reusable water bottle handy wherever you go, so you have an idea of how much you’re consuming throughout the day 🌱
- with meals: water down your moms over cooked meals with a big ol glass of H2O instead of juice, pop, etc. This helps with digestion, and saves all the unnecessary sugar found in most other beverages 💦
- before bed: yes, you may have to get up and use the bathroom in the middle of the night, but by drinking a little before sleep, you’re helping your body ease into being without water intake for the next 6-8 hours 💤
There is argument of the science of “water flushes out toxins after a massage”, but we’ll leave that for another day. For now, let’s keep our intake up to help keep our muscles and tissue at optimal performance.
