Did you know that all Elevate therapists do vacuum Cupping as an additional modality integrated into your massage treatment?
Cupping by an RMT may be indicated for a number of reasons, including: ...
~ Creating a controlled, localized inflammatory response to help increase blood flow.
~ Assist in ‘breaking up’ adhesions and mayo fascial trigger points within the fascia and connective tissue
~ Provide a negative vacuum and feeling of stretch from within the tissue
~ Can have a feeling of relaxation as well
Depending on the issue being worked on, different techniques include single cups or several cups (blanket cupping) being left stationary for several minutes, stationary cups being lightly lifted and stretched, or gliding cups over the skin to create a rolling fascial vacuum.
These techniques, how adhered the tissue is, and the amount of suction used give the commonly seen marks often mistaken for bruises. 🎯
